On Thursday, November 17, 16 students from Cumberland High’s physics class and science club competed in an engineering design competition hosted by Marshall High School. The Cumberland students competed in catapult, prop-powered model plane, toothpick bridge, and mousetrap car designs against students from Marshall, Casey-Westfield, Arcola, Robinson, Grayville, Effingham, and Lawrenceville high schools. The team is under the direction of Mr. Rocky Lewis and Mrs. Tiffany Gibson.
Overall, Cumberland placed 3rd with Marshall winning 1st place and Casey-Westfield finishing in 2nd place.
