The CMS Lady Raiders advanced to the Regional semifinal game yesterday with a 16-0 win over North Clay. They will take on Teutopolis on Saturday, 9/14, at 11:30 AM at Teutopolis. Good Luck!!
Cumberland Middle School will participate in the IESA Class 2A sectional cross country meet on Saturday, October 12 beginning at 10:45 AM at the St. Joseph Community Sports Complex. Good luck to our Raiders!
This is Attendance Awareness Month! The ROE is visiting with 1st grade classes this week to discuss the importance of coming to school. Attending school regularly helps students academically and socially. Let's work together to offer our students the chance to grow and learn!
The Star Spangled Raiders is a middle school a cappella vocal ensemble that performs the National Anthem at various home sporting events. Many students auditioned for the group this year! Those selected are Isabelle Carlen, Chloe Hardiek, Amber Lewis, Katie Martin, Shelby Nichols, Audrey Schade, Chase Burns, Hendrix Dunn, and Ethan Matthew.
At the MS EIU Invite, Colby Roedl placed 5th and Jacob Osborn placed 25th for the boys. For the girls, Lizzie Sudkamp placed 19th and Paige Wolke placed 23rd. 13 runners on the team had new PRs in the meet! Congratulations!
Cumberland Middle School will host the first round of the regional softball tournament on Wednesday, September 11, at 4:30 in Toledo. Cumberland received the #3 seed and we will play the #6 seed North Clay Junior High School. The winner of this game will compete against Teutopolis at Teutopolis at 11:30 AM on Saturday, September 14. Good luck to our Lady Raiders!
Tuesday was 8th grade recognition for the Cumberland Middle School softball team. Emi and Josie were celebrated for all of their contributions to the team. The team went on to beat Casey-Westfield 16-9. There is one last chance to see the team at home tonight at 4:30 when the Raiders take on Oblong.

Cumberland Middle School hosted the Raider Invite this past weekend. Colby Roedl placed 3rd out of 77 runners with a time of 11:47!
The Cumberland Middle School baseball game scheduled for August 29 has been canceled due to heat. It will be rescheduled for Monday, September 9 at Paris-Mayo with a 4:30 pm start time. The team will practice today after school until 5:00 pm in the old gym.
The Cumberland Middle School softball game at home versus Oblong has been canceled for today (8/29) due to heat. It will be rescheduled for Wednesday, September 4 in Toledo in place of the Charleston game. There will be practice in the new gym from 3:15-5:00 pm for the softball team today.
Cumberland Lady Raiders won over Paris Crestwood last night, 12-6! Lilly McMechan was the winning pitcher. Josie Smith and Lilly McMechan lead the team with 3 hits each.

The 5th grade science classes are learning about the scientific method. They experimented to see which bubble gum made the biggest bubble after 2 minutes of chewing!
